Mostly I’m a graphic designer, illustrator and web designer but the list goes on… maker, mother, list writer. Back in 2006 I set up my greetings card business, The Strawberry Card Company. Running my card company meant I had to turn my hand to everything from sales and marketing to web building and accounts and I loved all of it (for the most part).
The card company was fun for a long time but things change, focusses shift and in 2016 my son was born. I continued to run the card company as well as doing additional graphic design work, then in 2018 my daughter was born. I felt the need to streamline and make life as simple as possible. I shrunk my card company down to a manageable size, selling through Not on the High Street and taking time to evaluate which parts of my business made me happy and which slotted in to this new family life.
Two years on and I think I’ve found a pretty good balance. I make no bones about it, I’m a one woman band working around childcare and nap times, things are sometimes a juggle, but I feel lucky to be able to continue to do what I enjoy and long may it continue.
